Electrical resistance strain gauges are a long established method for recording the strain present underneath a thin film resistor, and can provide excellent strain sensitivity and long term remote measurement of component behaviour. Strain Solutions offers a strain gauging installation and instrumentation service, primarily for alignment of mechanical systems and verification of optical methods, but also for strain measurement in constrained locations where line of sight is not readily available.
